Who can Pinterest help?
Everyone with visual content! Think of anyone with product photos, a blog, work photos, and everything in between. Pinterest might not work for those who don't have a blog, photos, or have a very small service area. This isn't to say your audience isn't on Pinterest, it just might be more worth your time to focus on Pinterest ads where you can target a specific area of people than pinning for the whole world.
Step 1: Keywords
Alright, you've decided to start using Pinterest, where do you start? With keywords! Grab the keyword sheet above and get rolling. Head over to the search bar on Pinterest and type a general keyword (ex. DIY). This is your "Main" keyword. From there, look at the keywords surrounding this and find the ones that apply to you. These are called "Lead" keywords. . Type each in and look at the third word that pops up. This is your "Support" word.
Use these to drive or change your boards, board descriptions, pins, and pin descriptions.
Step 2: Creating Pins
Now you're ready to start creating; I'd recommend pinning 5-10 pins per day, with 1-5 of them being your pins.
I'd highly recommend using Tailwind to schedule your pins; it allows you to schedule at optimized times and literally at the press of a button. Don't worry, they have a fantastic free option that allows you to schedule about 15 days at a time.
To create your pin graphics, I highly recommend using Canva! Tailwind allows you to create pins, but most people are already using Canva, and I think it's more user friendly.
Step 3: Misc.
I'd highly recommend joining group boards, you can boost pins, but when you pin to these boards, they typically already have a large audience, which is great to boost your organic traffic.
Don't just pin your products! Pin other people's products and ideas too!
Focus on creating an account your target audience would create! This will draw them to your account and encourage a follow!
Ok, you should now be a mini pro at Pinterest!
